Verification

The measurement that proves the building works.

In-situ insulation, noise, and vibration testing with calibrated Class 1 instrumentation, delivering formal reports accepted by consultants, operators, and authorities.

The problem this solves

A specification is a promise; commissioning is the receipt. Operators, rating systems, and increasingly authorities require measured evidence that partitions, facades, and plant meet their targets. Testing also settles disputes quickly: a measured DnT,w ends an argument that opinions cannot.

What we deliver

In-situ airborne (DnT,w) and impact (LnT,w) sound insulation measurement per BS EN ISO 10140 and ISO 717. Reverberation time measurement per ISO 3382. Vibration isolation efficiency validation for mechanical plant and generators. Near-field and far-field machinery and industrial source measurement. Facade element and glazing performance testing. HVAC commissioning: diffuser NC verification, silencer insertion loss validation, flexible connection inspection. Post-occupancy verification with defect identification and remediation guidance.

Method and instrumentation

Field measurements follow the referenced ISO methods, and every report states method, instrument, and calibration status. Instrumentation: calibrated Class 1 sound level meters, multi-channel FFT analyzers, accelerometers and laser Doppler vibrometers, tapping machines, and dodecahedron loudspeakers.

How this scope is appointed: as a testing and commissioning appointment on its own, with no design involvement required, or as the verification stage of a design we produced.

Questions we are asked

Whose testing do authorities accept?

Field measurements made to the referenced ISO methods, with Class 1 instrumentation and formal reporting. That is the basis on which our reports go to consultants, operators, and authorities.

What happens when an element fails its test?

The report identifies the defect and its likely cause, and we provide remediation guidance so the retest passes rather than repeats.

Do you test to Rw or to DnT,w?

Rw is a laboratory rating of an element; DnT,w is the field rating of the built situation between two rooms. We measure the field quantity and report it against whichever rating your specification names.
